I need to install a MS CRM Sales client for outlook on a computer which belogs to a different domain than the CRM server. Because of that domain thing, sales client setup cannot access CRM server and it refuses to install. Is there a way to make this work without adding the workstation to the same domain where the server is?

Thanks

Yes, as long as the OS is Windows XP PROFESSIONAL.
What you do before installation of the SfO client is use IE to go to the http://crm website, when prompted for username/password, enter the credentials for the domain CRM user and **** SAVE PASSWORD ****.
Also set up an Outlook profile for the Exchange server in the CRM domain.
Then re-run the SfO setup, you will still get the warning, but setup should finish.

PS this method has worked for me several times, but is not supported by Microsoft.
