Hi,

First you need to head on over to https://www.google.com/adsense/ and create yourself an account,

you need an up and running website because they check your site fits in with the terms of service, i.e. it has content.

When your site is approved, you can simply login and access the Create Adverts section of the member area. Here you can specify the size of you adverts, and the colour scheme.

Google then simply gives you some code to to copy and paste anywhere into your website,

It's very simple once your account is verified.

Hope that helps you, good luck with the site.

p.s. if you get stuck creating the adverts, the google adsense help is very useful :)

Hi,
Thanks for your response.
I already have an account and have the adsense running on my site.WHat i need is to make the adsense on my site look like http://www.hilary.com/celebrity/, by having different colors for one ad block and by not having the "ads by google" text at the top of the block.
Thanks

Hi again,

Sorry i missunderstood your question.

The way they have done it, is using a different javascript than the one normally issued.

from the Adsence TOS:

---------

Code Modification

Any AdSense ad code, search box code, or referral code must be pasted directly into Web pages without modification. AdSense participants are not allowed to alter any portion of the ad code or change the layout, behavior, targeting, or delivery of ads for any reason.

-----------

I've heard that google may make special cases for massive companies which I imaging is what happened in this case,
but editing it yourself is risky, you could get yourself banned from the adsense program, just takes one person to submit a compaint,

All that aside, if you really want it, the code is available on that page if you go to View... Source, it is similar to the normal code, with a few if statements in,

I belive using the "google_kw" and "google_kw_type" is also against their TOS without direct permisson (again only for big players)

Hope this all helps,
Iain
