I our enviroment, we have mixed windows and linux clients.
Periodically the linux clients can't logon to our terminal server.

They initiate the connection, and then the window closes again immediately.

What is the problem here?!?!?

Terminal Server Licensing? Did you activate the server? Are they new clients trying to connect?

How to activate a License Server by using Terminal Server Licensing in Windows Server 2003

We recently implemented a new TS licensing server.
As I understood, when device licenses expires and the old license server is not available, the device license will be activated at the new license server.

Most of the devices are already active at the new license server

Did I misunderstand anything??

I think you got it right about the license - I would look at the license manager and see if any linux devices are getting connected with a new license.

Please be clear -
Do you have specific linux clients that are able to connect 1 out of 6 retries ?
Do you have some linux client that connect 100% of the time and other linux clients that are never able to connect?
Or is is something like between 8-10am linux clients were able to connect between 10am and 12pm the helpdesk got lots of calls from linux client users who were not able to connect?

I think you would have stated it already but there is no citrix here?

Hi Mark,

Thanks a lot for your comments...
The problem haven't appeared lately, and all linux clients seems to be assigned to the new licensing server.
So I think it's time for some points;-)
