NewProject - New Web Project - After step 4 of web project wizard - Name and Pwd Reqd - can not get past this place in the wizard

Text box titled Name and Password Required <Root Web> with a User name and Password. Default setting for username comes up as localcomputername\adminusername. Obviously password does not work. No Response comes back, just same dialog box with same information. I have tried domainname\adminusername,  adminusername, everything I could think of.

If I cancel operation I get a "you are not authorized to perform this operation"

XP Pro-SP2 OS, MS InterDev 6.0 version 1817. New install first time on this computer. Any help? I have seen similar postings but no resolutions.

Thank you for your response. The web server is hosted through godaddy.com. I am not sure of security settings they have set up as a default.

Thank you for the assistance. Your response prompted me to think about password settings. There are two things that occured to get this resolved.

1) change the username settings to username. In other words delete the path. InterDev uses the last known path from a cache (I assume). since the <RootWeb> was defined, I used the username of the website logon. previously it was coming up as localcomputername\adminusername, or if I changed the path to something else then that path would come up.

2) the password to the website through the host was different then the admin password to the website. I confirmed the password by using ftp://username@domainname. The dialog box that came up confirmed I was using the wrong password.
