Hi experts,

I am trying to find some (free) software that can do batch scanning.  It should scan directly to PDF.  No OCR function needed.  It should also have an option to create individual files or one file for each page scanned.

I have seen these feature in Omnipage pro 15 but $500 is out of my price range.

Thanks in advance.

Try searching Google with "batch scan to PDF"
It came back with a number of hits.
I have never done it so I don't know what to recommend.
I did see one reference to Adobe Acrobat ... if it will do it then this is probably your "best" option.

I tried Acrobat but it creates one file for all scans.  You have to go through a number of steps to split the file up.  Omnipage pro 15 Batch scanning has more of a hands-off approach I like.  It scans and saves after each scan where Acrobat only saves after you finish all your scanning .  Omnipage batch scanning mode has a very simple UI which is one of the reasons I like it.  You put some sheets in, active scanning mode, wait until stack is finished, put more sheets in, press continue or finish button.

It might be a little more trouble BUT ... what about scanning into another format, in the way you want and then converting the scanned docs into PDF?

I tried that and it's too time consuming.

I compare the datasheets of Omnipage 14 pro and 15 pro.  Omnipage 14 pro has the same features I am looking for as Omnipage 15 and it's cheaper so I will purchase 14 pro.
