Multiple Monitors - HP DC5100 SFF

I'm finally getting around to setting up two monitors for my work PC, an HP DC5100 small form factor.  I'm told by HP that I would be able to use the existing onboard video and just add a standard PCI video card.  I just have to configure the BIOS accordingly.

Question, is there is any benefit to not using the onboard video card and just buy a dual-head video card?  I saw the NVIDIA Quadro cards, but ideally I'd like to stay under $100 for this setup.

Thanks.
