The main page is help_desk_start.asp. This page will accept a badge number and check for this badge number to exist in the database. Based on the existence, the next page - that is help_desk.asp loads. This is the error I get after I enter my badge number -

Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers error '80004005'

[Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Data source name not found and no default driver specified

C:\WEB\HELP_DESK\../ado/ado_start.inc, line 5

This is the content of the ado_start.inc file -

<%'SET UP ACTIVEX DATA OBJECT
set my_conn = server.createobject("adodb.connection")
set my_rows = server.createobject("adodb.recordset")
'my_conn.open "miles","web_man",""
my_conn.open "DSN=" & trim(ado_dsn) & ";UID=" & trim(ado_uid) & ";PWD=" & trim(ado_pwd) & ";DATABASE=" & trim(ado_database) & ";APP=" & trim(app)
my_rows.open sql, my_conn
app = "" %>

I have already tried the solution of changing the permissions on the registry key for Full Control.

thanks

The problem is your connection string. the line:

my_conn.open "DSN=" & trim(ado_dsn) & ";UID=" & trim(ado_uid) & ";PWD=" & trim(ado_pwd) & ";DATABASE=" & trim(ado_database) & ";APP=" & trim(app)

I would do some debugging to identify the string and verify that the string is correct for connecting to your database.
