DW 8.0.2 Updater Completes Succesfully, Yet I'm still opening 8.0

Hello,
I downloaded the Dreamweaver 8.0.2 updater and ran it, yet DW still only shows verision 8.0 in Help >> About Dreamwear. So, I tried doing the 8.0.1 updater, and DW still only shows 8.0.

What's going on? Why isn't it updating?

Hi damijim,

Do you have administrative rights to the machine you are trying to update?

Did the original installation come from a downloaded file or from a CD?  Adobe says there is a difference:

I have admin rights on my PC. The installation is a CD of Studio 8, but it did not ask for it during the installation process. I read their information... it wasn't helpful.
Well, form my experience when it doesn't ask for the CD, something has gone wrong.  I would export your sites, back up your extensions, and do a complete uninstall and reinstall.

Hm, I uninstalled DW, reinstalled DW, and ran the 8.0.2 Updater.

When I open DW, it's still v8. The Updater 'acts' like it is doing something... hrm.
Possible corrupted updater?  Try redownloading that.

Weird...

I've downloaded it several times now... and I've tried using the upgrader to 8.0.1.... and it doesn't work either.....
The only other things I can think of are:

1. Some security setting is preventing the update of the registry.  Try disabling firewalls, A/V, and spyware apps.

2. You don't have the admin rights you think you do.  This is probably not the case.

3. From the site: "Dreamweaver no longer supports Windows 98, Windows 2000 Server, Windows 2003 Server."  Using any of those?

Ack, sorry.

Jason:
1) I tried these things, but they did not resolve the issue.
2) I have admin rights on this machine.
3) I am running Windows XP Pro.

I still haven't been able to update. Thanks!

Uninstalling DreamWeaver and re-installing it worked. Thanks! Sorry for the delay.
