Windows XP Professional
User is part of local admins group
Firewall is turned off for all connections.

When trying to add a simple pptp vpn connection, I get the follow error:

Cannot write phonebook.
Error 624: The system could not update the phone book file.
Unable to create the specified connection.  This can be caused by insufficient memory or not enough disk space.

I have verified that system resources are ok, and there is 15GB of free space on the computer.
No modems are used in this computer (there is a built in modem however) and no dial up connections are present.

HELP!

just googled your error message and found this:

"Error 624:  Cannot update the phonebook file.

Resolutions: 1)  Make sure that RASPHONE.PBK is located in system32\RAS\.  If so, rename the file to RASPHONE.OLD and run RASPHONE.EXE.  If not, just run RASPHONE.EXE. 2) Uninstall and reinstall DUN/RAS."

hope it helps,
