Delayed emails

Hello,

We currently use Exchange Small Business Server 2003 and we have currently been experiencing a delay in some of our outgoing emails.  The emails get stuck in the queue and then we receive a message that says "that the email is in delay".  Are there any methods or troubleshooting tips for this?  Any recommended tools??

Do the messages leave eventually?
Email delays are not uncommon. It means that the server cannot deliver the message immediately. There are lots of reasons for those, most of which are outside of your control.

What is more interesting is the fatal failure messages - the full NDR. That will give a reason on the message for the failure.

You can ensure that email is delivered correctly by verifying that your DNS, reverse DNS and SMTP banner is set correctly.
