I need to upload and download files to and from an FTP site from a Delphi program. What is the easiest way to do this without using Indy. Thanks.

well, I'm an indy fan, so I am am maybe not exactly the best person to give a good demo on this, but here is the product download page and there are also a few demos available: http://www.overbyte.be/frame_index.html?redirTo=/products/ics.html
you can look at the server and licent socket demo and do more or less the same with the respective ftp components.

but may I ask: what's wrong with using indy?

ICS works great, thanks and the author seems to be a top guy.

Indy: nothing wrong with it, I just like to evaluate more than one option before choosing.

Thanks for your prompt response ciuly. Grade A.
