E-mail tracking

One of my departments is currently tracking all e-mails sent to a particular distribution list to track frequently asked questions for the organization.  They are looking for a better way to track the questions and response times.  Is there something I can use to do this within Exchange?  Public folders, etc?  Or any 3rd party tools?

Thanks!

Exchange has a message tracking facility. It may not do what you want though. You can only query it real time through Exchange system manager. For third party applications they have to wait until the next day when Exchange releases its lock from the file.

Otherwise you are probably looking at some kind of CRM or helpdesk application.
