Hi,
I would like to find how to resolve the additional symbol in text file at the end of each line.

I have transferred a text file to the server where each field is separated with a delimiter. at the end of the each line somehow it has additional symbol like small rectangle box.

Thank you

I imagine it is a carriage return or line feed character.  Try transferring it in ASCII mode if you currently use BINary or vice versa.

Unix uses differenet end of line characters to Windows / DOS is the reasoning behind this.

If the file is already on Windows open it up in EDIT and save and it sorts out the end of lines otherwise there are programs availabel on the net like dos2unix.exe which will do the conversion
