Print spooler stops suddenly

Dear experts,
I have two windows 2000 servers with SP2 work as citrix servers (Citrix Metaframe Xp 1.0 + service pack 1/feature release 1) one of them the Print spooler service stops suddenly so I have to restart it manually and that happened more than one time, is there any hotfix solves this problem without any effect to overall process ????

First, have you checked for anybody with a new printer that doesn't have the proper print driver on the server??  That's the most common cause of Print Spooler failure for Citrix...  This might be illuminated by the Event Viewer on the affected server.

but I  have more than 35 printer on each server , how can I know the "bad" driver?

Printer problems are never easy to find, but something you can do to help troubleshoot (after restarting the print spooler and getting your customers working again) is to scan through the Event View and see who connected to the the Citrix box and connected printers or sent a print job - before the print spooler crashed.  It's not a sure thing, but might get you some evidence in finding the root cause.  As well, have any new printers been introduced to your environment since the problem arose??

Also, there is a Feature Release/Service Pack 3 for MetaFrame XP Server for 2K (rel. Dec. 2004), that may address this issue...  As you are still on SP1, you should seriously consider updating.  I'd test it out by deploying as an installer package so it can be rolled back if necessary.  Take a look here for Hotfixes & Service Packs (it may require a MyCitrix login - free...):

Just curious, how long has your print spooler been stalling?  If it's recent, check and see if any new printers were introduced to your environment.  There usually isn't a hotfix for bad drivers in Citrix :( ,  just plain old troubleshooting to find the bad driver and either get it updated or replaced with a "generic driver" (HPLJ2, HPLJ5, etc...).
