Automatic popup of email addresses when typed in the 'To' line

If I type an email address in the 'To:' line a list starts to build as I send emails to different people.  Is this a file or setting some where on the computer?  I have a user who's list resets to blank once she shuts down the computer and then re-opens Outlook.  The rebuild of the list starts over.

Greetings, conderscott !

I assume you are using Outlook 2002 or 2003. The list is kept in a nickname file, .NK2.  The reason the file may be going blank is that it is corrupt. Delete or rename the file and Outlook will recreate it.

Close Outlook. Search for *.NK2 and rename the file.  .NK2 file is located in
C:\Documents and Settings\<user>\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook folder.

It is a hidden file. Go to any folder and select Tools > Folders Options > View. Check "Show hidden files and folders".  Click OK.

Best wishes!
