Cordless phone interfering with DSL modem

I recently purchased a 5.8GHz Uniden cordless phone.  Works great except everytime I get near my DSL modem, my internet goes down and the modem cycles.  This ONLY happens when I'm near it with the cordless phone in use.  And I've never had any problems before with the modem.  I'm connecting with just the modem, no routers, switches, etc.

Is there a solution to this issue without getting rid of the cordless phone??  Thanks.

just stay away with the phone from the modem. it's transmitting signal is bringing it down.
another way is putting the modem in a grounded box

any metal box, connected to the earth pole of the AC will do.
But i do not think you'll find ready made ones . They may have some general boxes at radio shack or such.
