Cannot "add mirror"

Hi,

I'm helping a customer with a brand new Dell with two 250 GB SATA HD's. I'm trying to setup software raid1 in Windows. I have converted booth drives to dynamic drives, but I cannot still click "add mirror" (grey).

I also tried to format the D-drive with NTFT, but that doesn't help!

Thank you in advance.

"You can create [software] mirrored volumes only on computers running Windows 2000 Server, Windows 2000 Advanced Server, Windows 2000 Datacenter Server, or Windows Server 2003 operating systems"

The above quote is from: http://technet2.microsoft.com/WindowsServer/en/Library/4b8002b4-d096-4045-8ffe-c152a4bfc3571033.mspx?mfr=true

Since you are apparently running Win/XP, that might be the problem.

Thank you but, XP Pro should have this option as the "Add mirror" menu is there but it's grey...

Sorry, XP Pro doesn't support software mirror either. In addition to the official link from MS which I cited above, see:

 http://www.petri.co.il/software_mirror_in_windows_xp.htm
 http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=307880

etc.
