Determine broadband connection speed

I haven't seen any good responses yet in regards to connection speed. I know the speed goes up and down. All I want is a script that will tell me what my internet connection speed is a particular time. Maybe someone has a script where ping is sent and the time is returned ic calculated. I need some code where I just click a button and a message pops back saying my upload speed is XXXKB. I'm interested in mainly upload speed of files, not download, but would love to have the option to test both.

Greetings, Mach1pro.

The speed can't be computed unless something is actively moving across the connection.  Pinging isn't an effective test other than as a general measure.

Cheers!

So, how about some script to upload a small test file and then see how long it takes to get there? I am using the WinInet.dll with the cFTP class written by Chris Eastwood if that helps any.
