Discrepency in unread emails count in folders list and number of unread emails in Inbox

Hello,
        I am using Outlook to an Exchange account with additional mailboxes. One of the additional mailboxes show three unread emails in the folders list for it's Inbox but the listing for Inbox shows only one.
When I use web mail to directly look at the mailbox it shows all three. On further analysis the 2 missing unread emails are over a week old. I checked that the Outlook Current view, which is set to Messages. I have tried changing the view to see if they appear using different filters, but to no avail.
Any ideas?

Hi chris_beere,

It seems that you have a filter. Try this:

View
Arrange By
Custom.
Filter
Clear All.

I made a rule as follows:
Apply this rule after the message arrives where my name is in the To box forward it to myname@myplace
