gotoSceneAndPlay

Hey guys,

I have been asked to create a little flash based movie thingy and I need to have 4 images (front covers) and when you roll over the cover, it expands, you move your mouse of and it strinks down to normal size.  Fine.

Scene 1

all the covers lined up, converted to buttons

scene 2

1st mag growing

scene 3

2nd mag growing

etc etc

Now i have the gotoSceneAndPlay on the roll over but it just plays the scene 2 on its own, meaning that other magazines disappear because they are not a part of that scene.

Now how do I get around this?  I though the thing needed to do is to when someone rolls over, it plays both the main scene AND the scene of it growing.  Is this possible and if not what is?

Thank you

Steve

firstlt..stay in scene 1

this is for one cover .. repeat for others.
make the cover into a movieclip.
doubleclick on the cover .. you now see another timeline.
put a stop();  on frame 1 ..this is so the movie doesn't run until you tell it
put the content you have in scene 2 ..of the cover growing.. into that timeline from frame 2 onwards

back to the main timeline
on  the cover movieclip put the code..

on(rollOver)(
this.gotoAndPlay(2);
}

on(rollOut){
this.gotoAndStop(1);
}

so all the content is in scene 1 ..
bottom line..don't use scenes .. these were thought up by the developers.. who probably don't use the software and
don't know what a pain and how unnecessary they are.

Hey Z, I am using SWISH so I can't double click on the image itself.  Is there anything else I can do?
