Getting a "distortion" effect on InDesign CS pages when scrolling the page.

I have a user in the company I work for and when she is in InDesign CS 3.0.1 she is getting a 'distorting' effect on the screen whenever she scrolls through pages. The 'distortion' appears as a kind of skipping, where lines appear that make it look like the page she is working on is skipping over parts of the page. I am not certain how else to describe it. When this happens it is very difficult to do anything with the page because items will not line up properly with the cursor and binding boxes do not line up with their elements. I hope someone understands what I am talking about and can help me.

So far that is the only program that it is happening in, however, it is the program the user primarily uses.

hmm.. not really sure.  Try the standard maintenance procedure by Zapping the PRAM, Repair Permissions and fsck..  The instruction can be found here: http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=89736
