Deleted users from AD, and need to get access to their mailbox in Exchange Server 2003.

I deleted a user from AD and now I need to get into their mailbox to retrieve the mail in it.  How might I do this?

First, create a new AD account without a mailbox. Next, open ESM and expand the server->storage group->mailbox store the mailbox is in. Click Mailboxes and verify that the mailbox for this user is listed. Next, right-click the mailboxes folder and select "Run cleanup agent". Wait a few minutes then refresh the view. The mailbox should now have a red x on it. Right click the mailbox and select "Reconnect". Choose the new account you created to connect the mailbox to. You can use the new account's credentials to log on to the mailbox.
