What operating system are you using? If its a Mac, it sounds like a common pre-OSX issue. You just need to go into the system folder, find the preferences folder, find the Quark preferences file, and trash it. If its OSX (or PC), I haven't encountered it yet and honestly don't know where the preferences live. (In OSX, there is a 'preferences panes' folder in the library, but it doesn't appear to have the same type of contents as the pre-OSX preferences folder). If its a PC issue, I can't help.

Sorry to let you know, I am using a Windows 2000 OS... do you think i can just do the same as a Mac. Where can I locate the system folder and preferences folder? Cheers!

I use a PC at work, and I don't have quark, but this is where I found Photoshop prefs:
C:\Documents and Settings\YOURUSERNAMEGOES HERE\Application Data\Adobe\Photoshop\9.0\Adobe Photoshop CS2 Settings

I'll bet quark has a similar place/file.
