Internet Security

Hi There

I have windows 2000 installed on Laptops. My users are going to use the laptops to go to our home website.
Is there a way without installing firewall software to limit the users so they can only go to our home website.
All other websites must be blocked

Thanks

I have tried doing this for a very long time.  Considering the features available in Group Policy and in the Internet Explorer Security Options, you would think Microsoft would have provided a way to do this.

The only ways I have found to do this is one of the following:
- Assign each computer a static IP but do not set the default gateway.  No packets will be routed but only works if your entire network is on one subnet.
- Don't set a DNS server (or set it to something bogus) and create a HOSTS file on each computer with the IPs of all of your Intranet computers.
- Get a third-party program.  There are many available such as:
Browse Control http://www.codework.com/bcontrol/features.htm
SurfControl http://www.surfcontrol.com/Default.aspx?id=375&mnuid=1.1

If these laptops will be "on the road" you really need to get a third-party solution.  Data security in mobile devices seems to be a big news maker right now :).  To REALLY control these laptops, look at a product like this http://www.senforce.com/ess.html.
