DB2 Add Database Problem

I am working with DB2 for the first time and I'm having trouble adding a database.  I am trying to connect to a mainframe through the Client Configuration Assistant but after entering all of the settings, I get the following message:

**************************************************************
The add database operation failed.

SQL1096N  The command is not valid for this node type.
**************************************************************

I am not finding a lot of documentation on this and the settings I have entered appear to work for other people using the application.

Thanks in advance,

N

to connect to mainframe, you have to use db2 Connect

do you have DB2 Connect installed?

Tech support finally got back to me, turns out my password was expired.  I find this odd since it was assigned yesterday.  I'm connected now, thank you for the response.
