Email notifications with Exchange 2000/2003

could i schedule an email notification to a specific address with exchange? Do i need any additional tool to acomplish this? any ideas? i am running windows server 2000 with exchange 2000.

You need to set email notifications on the outlook client
Tools Options Email Options Tracking Options Delivery Receipt

does that outlook need to be on or can i close it and it will still send the notification?

i found a solution. i wanted to send an email on specific time with exchange. I just scheduled file copy with task scheduler to copy file to exchange pick up folder. the file contains text with email formating so exchange takes and sends it out.
