Tell me about the method you are using to create a new appointment? File, New appointment? Or double click on calendar? What happens when you try?

I have tried both, outlook just sits there not doing anything, I have tried to reboot but no luck...thx

Here are the things to check:
*do you have the latest service pack for your Outlook?
*If so, try Detect and repair (Help, Detect and Repair)
