AD Corruption

Hi,

I have 2 DC's both are running Windows 2003 Enterprise with SP1. One server (DC1) has 4Gig of ram and dual 2.4Ghz Xeon Processors, and the other (DC2) has a 3.4Ghz Xeon Processor with 2Gig of Ram. On DC2 the server has crashed and has a AD database corrupted.

I have followed the following KB article http://support.microsoft.com/kb/258062/en-us

but I get the error below.


Opening database [Current].*** Error: DBInitializeJetDatabase failed with
[ Jet

Error -1209].

Error While Doing Soft Recovery

Please help!!!!

this also says using esentutil might help, but this utility might remove objects/sttributes in AD.
since you have 2 DC's.
your options are:
1. use a recent system state backup and restore (perform a non auth restore)
2. demote the DC , perform a metadata cleanup and then run dcpromo.
