asked on
deploying crystal reports x1 and vb6
Can anyone help please?
I am trying to deploy crystal reports XI using the deployment wizard in VB6.
I get message "crpe32.dll not found in path c:\winnt;.;c:\winnt\system 32 .....etc" when setup is run on target box.
Windows 2000 service pack 4 is source and target.
Also when I try XP as target the target box crashes (having answered "no" to xxxx file is older on target box do you want to replace it?) with a corruption to the config.sys file.

Yes - version 4.6.1.112 in winnt\system32 and
11.0.0.1974 in Program files\Common files\Business Objects\3.0\bin
11.0.0.1883 in service pack 2
Hmmm
11.0.0.1974 in Program files\Common files\Business Objects\3.0\bin
11.0.0.1883 in service pack 2
Hmmm
Did you include the merge modules when you deployed the application?
PDW is not the best solution for deploying VB programs with Crystal. It can be done but you need to know the Crystal dlls you require.
I suspect you want this one 11.0.0.1883 in service pack 2, though there are probably other dlls that haven't been included.

I originally raised this topic under VB Controls Q_21922838; (having waited a week for some response I raised it here too -but now I have a dialogue going with jomacinc) - could I possibly get you to review it and post comments back
Following his suggestions I am using VSI - but not without ongoing problems and he is 12 hours away
Thanks
