security compromise on trsut betwen 2003 servers?

Hi, I am linked to another company via  two way trust, both domains are 2003 Ad

we are merging eventually but for now thw trust is fine)  in the last coupel of days when ever i attempt to browse ther AD or add users from my domain in to grooups on thers i get he message

AD
Windows cannot connect to the new domain because:
The system detected a possible attempt to compromise security. Please ensure that you can contact the server that authenticated you.

DNS seems fine
I can resolves domain names . server names etc
re validated the trust all sucsesful
MIS at there domain are able to work normally and carry out these tasks i cant.
Im domain admin in both Domains.

both SP1
there is a hot fix for this problem  but not related to us, we didnt use the update)
Internet DNS. although not listed on ther eside of things I did hear one of there MIS talking about moving there external DNS (he is on holiday :-) ) and no one else recalls the conversation.

I cant see any external DNS listed with in DNS config


any ideas help?

yes, sorted now

was down to an external DNS server been available internally
