There was an error found when printing the document "test page" to IP_10.10.10.3. Do you want to retry or cancel the job

Detail:

Printer ---> HP Laserjet 5SI NX
Printer server--> Windows 2000 server



Problem:

Problem started this morning.we i git in the office an all bunch of paper was printed. someone start a job before the week end probably. Now soon as someone print something or even a test page from windows 2000 i keep getting this error message on the server

--->There was an error found when printing the document "test page" to IP_10.10.10.3. Do you want to retry or cancel the job<---

and nothing come out the printer, except one blank page sometimes or one page with little crap printed on.

i dont know what to do know. i unpluged theprinter and plug it back, restarted the printer spooler.
i changed the setting from <Start printing after last page is spooled> TO < Start printing immediatly>

but that didnt resolve my prob.


any suggestion or idea .

I had a connection issue somewhere, it was not the cable from the printer to the switch it was not the port on the switch.

i ran a continues ping onver that printer and i was getting 94% of request timed out



i ran a continous ping on that printer for like 2 hour.

nobody did nothing to that printer, i was doing other thing and come back to my computer and PAFF.
suddently 100% ping reply everything is fine , the printer work.


do you think its the module on this printer or the printer network card ???


how could i diagnostic that

yeai i see,

set a static adress on my laptop and connect it directly to the printer and ping the printer.

i should have thought about this caus this is how i hook this one up by telnet caus we had two printer with same adress ip..
