None of the IP addresses of this Domain Controller map to the configured site
We have Windows Server 2003 with SP1, and 163 Windows XP SP1 clients. We have a few issues, mainly network performance, which I know some of the problems are to do with a couple of our switches, It's an IBM xSeries 235 server, when monitoring the Network connections the usage never seems to go above about 5-10%, it's 1GB connection and I would of thought there should be more network bandwidth being used. I am wondering if it's related to the following problem in the event log (see below) - although everything works ok (be it slowly) - any ideas why I get the error below? - out server is 10.0.60.16 and it has two other IPs bound to it for SMTP and Webmail.
This error gets repeated on a regular basis, does anyone have any ideas and perhaps suggestions about the lack of network activity? - definate switch problem or partly DNS or AD etc?
I checked the network card attributes and these IP address are in as they should be, I also notice that this server also seems to be taking 10.0.60.19 from DHCP for it's self? - is this normal?
Any suggestions on this would be gratefully received.
Thanks, Nick.

Description:
None of the IP addresses (10.0.60.16 10.0.62.2 10.0.60.1) of this Domain Controller map to the configured site 'NTSERVER'. While this may be a temporary situation due to IP address changes, it is generally recommended that the IP address of the Domain Controller (accessible to machines in its domain) maps to the Site which it services. If the above list of IP addresses is stable, consider moving this server to a site (or create one if it does not already exist) such that the above IP address maps to the selected site. This may require the creation of a new subnet object (whose range includes the above IP address) which maps to the selected site object.

We only have the one site, the additinal IPs need to be bound otherwise our Webmail / SMTP doesn't work. Could you give me some advice on what I need to do to change the IPs in Active Directory?
Thanks
Thanks
You need to configure two subnets in AD Sites and services and attach them to the Default-First-Site-Name.

Any chance of a step by step on this? - not sure how to go about attaching these IP addresses to the default site. I did try and change IP addresses in the NIC config, but I presume I need to do this somewhere in AD control?

Sorry for lack of response, been on holiday. Got back today and gave this a try. Seems to have resolved that error message, working much better now.
Thanks for your help.
Nick.
Thanks for your help.

I see you have 10.0.60.x and 10.0.62.x attached to this server - normally they would be different subnets depending on the subnet mask. My bet is that the .62 subnet is the culprit. You cannot have IPs on a server from different subnets unless they are completely different NICs.
