Adobe Acrobat Distiller 5.0.5 server and windows xp will not print to file

I have Adobe Acrobat Distiller 5.0.5 server running on a Windows 2K server. It processes postscript files and converts them to pdf for all users. The problem is that distiller works on all Windows 2000 machines but not windows XP machines. The process is the same for both operating systems. One brings up a document - goes to File - Print - chooses the PDF virutal printer which prints it to a file in a watch folder for distiller to pick up and convert to a pdf file. On Windows 2000 machines, the process works flawlessly. On Windows XP, using the same application to open the document and going to File - Print - choosing the same virtual printer, the error is :

Windows cannot print due to a problem with the current printer setup.
Try one or more of the following :
Check the printer by printing a test page from Windows.
Make sure the printer is turned on and online.
Reinstall the printer driver.

The distiller server displays the following error message :
Warning: Empty job file. No PDF file produced.

Has anyone seen this problem ? According to various sources, Adobe Acrobat 5.0.5 is supported by windows xp. Thank you for your assistance.

Let's clarify a few things:
You are running the Distiller server on Win2K.
A client using Win2K can create a PostScript file which is then picked up by the Distiller server
A client using WinXP cannot create a PostScript file with the same setup that works on Win2K

Is this correct?

Yes, khkremer. That is correct. The Win2K workstation works perfectly with the distiller server but all windows xp clients are having a problem. I believe I read that acrobat 5.0.5 is supported by windows xp.

Thanks khkremer. It was the printer driver. I just loaded the AdobePS Generic Postscript driver on the distiller server and now windows xp clients can create pdf files without a problem. Thanks for all your help. Points well deserved...
