Give access to only 2 users to a win2k server folder.

Hi all,

I would like please if someone can help me with this.

I have Windows 2000 server and I have a shared folder named USERS in that folder I have a folder for each one of my users, and also a public folder for all of them. what should I do in order to allow only that one user to view the contents of that folder over the network and deny all other users excluding my self.

Thank You

Create the fist folder and share it give it everyone permision create second and share the folder then remove everyone permision tab and add the user that will have full control now right click on the second folder and click on properties go to security and uncheck the allow inheritable permisions to propage from parent to this object now it will ask if you want to do that click remove and now add the user that will have full controll

I have a domain so I create
Users then I create John then Users I share, should I make another share on john?
on the shering managment on the 2000server now shows one folder shared as Users and the other as john is this correct?

Thank you

ok so the share should look like this

Share1   Permision Everyone
Share2 (under share1) take everyone out and set only the 2 users that you want to give access

You can test this by creating a test share

Test    Everyone
    |--->Test1 user1 user2

Note that you must uncheck allow inheritable permisions to propage from parent to this object

Also All admins will have access to this shares not just user1 and user2
