Can I remotely change a user to use a different Blackberry / PIN?

Hi all,

I have a field user who had their Blackberry die on them (7290).  He paid a fee to upgrade to a newer 8700C unit and now wants his email to start working again.  Our BES (v4.0.4.6 as reported by Blackberry Manager) still has his old PIN in there.  How can I change things locally to allow him to remotely get back up and running?  He is across the country and won't be back in the office for a few weeks, so it would be best if there is any way to do this without physically having the Blackberry.

Thanks!

Hi there, thanks for the response.  I don't think this is quite right as deleting and re-creating his profile does not allow me to select a new device for him.  The Handheld Configuration Tool still has the old PIN assigned to this user.  So how can I update the data in the Configuration Tool so the Blackberry Manager will use the new number?

Thanks,

Jeff

All you need to do is set an activation password on their account and get the user do do the enterprise activation from the device.  This will update the PIN on your BES during the activation process.

Have one question about this once I set the new password will the old phone still work.  Or will the old phone not be able to work at all.  The old phone still works but doesn't charge.
