does Hotmail delete messages after a certain time frame?

I have some messages in my hotmail account that are about 1.5 years old. Is there a certain time after which they will automatically deleted?

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

If you don't log in for a 30 day period, they can & do delete all emails.
Otherwise, so long as they are not in your bulk folder, they persist...but double check their terms just to make sure.

I have had a hotmail account for over 5 years. I have never had a message deleted that was not in the junk or deleted folder.
Yahoo e-mail is better : )
Lot more space, less spam-friendly, great spam blocker, and you get 4 months inactivity period before they delete emails instead of Hotmail's 30 days.
And Yahoo has a more user-friendly interface, while Hotmail I've found very frustrating at times (e.g. can't resize the text on html emails in your browser, and in mail options you can add an email address to some list (allow list i think) but there's no option to remove it! etc.)
Have you tried the live mail yet? It is hotmails update to the "live" system. It gives you an almost outlook web access look. Plus if you use outlook you can have your hotmail account in outlook.
