Can't you find out how far it gets, I mean, if a connection to the update site is being cut off or if it never connects? Is there no way of logging?<br />
You could have another look at c:\windows\windowsupdate.l<wbr />og, maybe you'll find more.

IT gets TO the site and errors AFTER I click on Express or Custom to do the updates. &nbsp;<br />

In ISA, it shows that the server makes it to the URL, but I have a seperate post up for that. &nbsp;I was going to see if focusing on the error message would help resolve it.

This server is on 192.168.1.X in a perimeter network. &nbsp; It can access the internet just fine but does so behind a firewall. &nbsp;Perimeter to &nbsp;External Network Rule set as NAT. &nbsp;When attempting to do Windows updates, the error message is <br />

This update is being done thru an ISA 2004 server. &nbsp;The access rules is configured to access all applicable Windows updates sites.<br />

Error number: 0x80072EFE

This update is being done thru an ISA 2004 server.  The access rules is configured to access all applicable Windows updates sites.

Google is pretty light on this message.

Windows Server 2003 was based on Windows XP and was released in four editions: Web, Standard, Enterprise and Datacenter. It also had derivative versions for clusters, storage and Microsoft’s Small Business Server.
