BIOS (ASUS A7V600-X) doesn't recognize new HDD (Samsung SP1604N)
Hi there,
I tried to install a Samsung SP1604N HDD on an Asus A7V600-X motherboard and the BIOS didn't recognize the new HDD.
First I tried to install it as a slave. Then I removed my current HDD and install the new one as master, just like the current one. In both cases BIOS didn't recognize the new HDD.
Any ideas ??
Thanks :)

The hard drive may be bad. Also check that the IDE cable used in connecting the drive is also good. you may want to try another cable and also troubleshoot by inserting the HDD into another system and see.
