Div box Vs Sitmap.xml
I have been told that div boxes are great way of increasing your ranking if used in the correct way. I was advised to create a links on the div box to every page in my site using relevant search terms as descriptions. One of the biggest advantages being the home page already has a good page rank.
My question is.......... does adding the sitemap.xml to the front page simply do the same job ?

The idea of the div box was to pass the high page rank of the home page directly to the everypage in the site. Which in theory sounds like a sensible idea ? Agree /Disagree

Because I was told with a div its just one hop to get to the next page. Someone else told me the sitemap.xml does the same job but I would expect this to be 2 hops ??

No thats not true i disagree , it wont help you in rankking.
Add a sitemap(not xml but page with your links) if you havent done so.
Which is your site ?
You wanna increase rank or PageRank - they both are different.

Agree they are both different but are you saying a higher page rank does not get you a better ranking ?
I also thought that google would also like the fact it could access every page on your website from the home page, simple navigation putting a tick in the google box.
Combining that with some good strong competetive keywords for entries in the div box surely this has got to help ranking and do a better job that the sitemap.

I dont think it's true that div boxes increase your ranking.
