Ah, I think I may have resolved this prob. Looked in the event viewer and it suggested that this problem was related to an executable file &quot;MsMpEng.exe&quot;, a quick internet serach showed that this file is associtated with Windows Defender. I have unistalled this program and it seems to have cleared the issue.

I am having a problem with a networked PC. It seem like this problem happens every time I try and access any network resources or locations. I keep getting an error dialogue box appearing (you know the one that asks if you want to send an error report to Microssoft). It says &quot;Service Executable has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience&quot;.........<br />

Any ideas what I can do to fix this problem?<br />

Service Executable
