Hot swappable components in AIX 5.3 HACMP LPAR environment on P595
Hello Experts,
I am developing a company document on replacement of failed components in AIX 5.3 LPARs with HACMP on P595.
I am concentrating on replacement of Network card, Fiber channel card, Memory and CPU in case of failure. I have couple of questions:
1. Which of these components are Hot swappable?
2. I know Hot swappable means that we can replace a component while the LPAR is operational, but practically speaking is it 100% guaranteed that we dont have to failover to the secondary LPAR and that the LPAR will not have to be shutdown? OR it depends on the CE how he wants handle??
I am developing a procedure to replace a failed component in a HACMP environment. In case if we dont need to failover and shutdown, i will avoid these steps in my procedure.
Waiting for answers.
thanks,
Max.
