Redirected desktop icons disappear

We are running a full windows 2003 server environment.   We have all users desktop and my documents being redirected to server B.  They are using local profiles on the machine.  After a unkown amount of time their icons my disappear from their desktop.  After refreshing the desktop all icons reappear.  Any suggestions?

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Sounds like the connection to the server is lost and the clients read the server as offline.

I have encountered this on my own network a few times and found that it was a faulty NIC causing random disconnections.

You may want to have a look at offline synchronization. in you're GPO
