Howdy...

If you stop the audio that is currently playing and play the same audio again when you rollOver the button, it won't have that echo effect...

ok, well i have an menu system that is either Standard Mode (text/html), or Speaking Mode (Flash)

The Flash Menu consists of 9 individual files, each a different button...

Each Button is a simple Roll-Over type deally, with audio -

So when you roll-over it, the small audio says "Click here for xyz.."

The imported audio is a wav, and the Audio setting for the FLA is mp3 (which can change)

Im looking to have simple buttons that when you Roll-Over them, the audio plays, - However if one were to run their mouse accross it multiple times AND/OR run across the menu horizontally, the audio would stop playing the previous, and play the active in serial fashion - instead of the parallel fashion that it is now.

Ive not used Flash in years, and the action script deal seems excessive for what im trying to accomlish - and tut's on the web refer to older versions - I digress.

So.. how can ya' help me ? :)

yeah thats the functionality im looking for.. it doesnt play the audio again while the last stream is playing - to the point where it sounds like a megaphone echo... which is what i have now.

i looked at the file, but saw no actionscript.. though i dont know my way around the Flash dev interface

It's a frame script...  Find the layer that says 'Actions'...  That's where you look for...

Press the Alt-F3 as well...  ;)

Find the layer that says 'Actions' and select the frame 1 to see the script...  ;)

You might want to check on this page to see the different places you can place your script...

how do i put an identifier to my wav file?

is this the extent of the script your talking about?

test_sound = new Sound(this);
this.sound_btn.onRollOver = function ()
{
      test_sound.stop();
      test_sound.attachSound("testSound");
      test_sound.start();
}
CyanBlue

Import your WAV file into the library...
Right click on the entry in the library and select the linkage identifier...

ive got the script on another layer from the button, and took the sound out of the button itself.
