what type of controller did you buy - it will come with a RAID utility which are always simple to configure

Like Jay_Jay70 said, take a look at the documentation and it will show you how to configure it.  More then likely you will have some function key to press when it is booting up to get into the RAID cards settings where you will then configure the drives.

What brand of server is it.
Say if its a HP use the HP smartstart to configure the array. You should be getting this CDs with the server. Even with IBM server you would be getting the setup CD which would guide you through the Array creation.

Also make sure that the Raid controller works on your server. If you do a search for your server specific additional hardware you should be able to find the Raid controllers which are compatible. Also would be good if you ordered the other Hard Disk that would be similar to the existing one.

I am not familure with sata drives. I have a server with a 250gb sata drive in it. I purchased anotehr 350gb sata drive. I want to install this and configure raid one for this. How do i accomplish this. Can I plug the drive in while teh server is on?
sorry I guess we will not need the radi card as it is sata drives can you help me with this?
Depending on the server it may be possible.  Do you know if the server has hot swapable drive bays?  If you have to open the server up and plug it into the motherboard then the odds are NO, it is not hot swapable.
