Are you sure its Google Desktop?

Usually that error appears when there is errors with MS Winword.

Can you put the error message in here?

Try remove MS  Winword from defaul e-mail editor:
Tools | Options

Mail Format tab
Remove marks from:
Use Microsoft Office Word 2003 to edit e-mail messages
Use Microsoft Office Word 2003 to read Rich text e-mail messages

Restart Outlook

Hope it Helps

Best Regards

yeah im pretty sure its google desktop, i checked the error and it referred to googledesktop.dll.  i will have to wait for it to crash again (which normally isnt too long) to get the exact message.

i have deinstalled and reinstalled google desktop, the error continues.

my default email editor is already aligned to ms word.

thanks for responding, will post the error codes when it happens again.
