Hiding Licensing in Registry Keys - Opinion Needed?
I've been looking at certain software licensing products that hide datetime, day counts, etc in odd places with the registry.
Q. What's the point if programs like regmon reveal all the registry entries?
I suppose if they are encrypted, it would be difficult to translate the actual values.
Also, been reading about web services used for licensing validation.
Only problem is if the web server is down, possibly many potential clients could be discouraged due to problems.
Just looking for professional opinions on the best and practical software licensing ideas.....

No, need to store licensing info anywhere. Then you just have to find out how to make money.
Ads could be one approach. Another could be to charge for further development of your software.
