How to recuperate/save a Word document when error "failed to save due to out of memory of disk space" due to driver/kernel problems

I have exactly the same problem as in Q_21608678.html which means that when trying to save a document in Word I get the error message  "failed to save due to out of memory or disk space". I have read the solution, but my problem is that I cannot save the current document I am working in! As it represents a of work I like a way out of this. I disabled the virusscanner, tried to save to CD or various places on de HDD or a floppy, but nothin works.
I can save to WordPad but will then loose all of the Word features including the tracking of changes made in this 4,5MB document.

Please explain how to save this document. I have left the computer on and the document in Word is not lost yet. This is an urgent problem!

Kind regards,

Hello,

Thanks for your comments.
Since I referred to Q_21608678.html, I actually already checked http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=830265, so that didn't help much. Thanks for trying anyway.
Remote access was not available (not Internet or anthing else).
Copy/paste in a new Word document didn't help (still couldn't save).
In the end the machine was swicthed off and back on again and Word did keep a recovery file so we managed to recover most of the work (except the last couple of changes). However, we weren't sure that Word would actually keep this recovery file before we closed Word! Normally yes, but in this case there is definitively a problem (related to http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=830265).
In any case, we did not succeed to save the file while we experienced this particular problem. It would save nowhere (C-drive , floppy, nor CD-ROM).
Thanks for the help anyway. At least we don't have to start everything from scratch. I didn't know about winword /a, so I learned something!

Regards,
