I have bought some server space and now want to put a php forum on it, but .....

I want people to pay to access this site, is there any way of incorporating the 'payment' side (via paypal) into the registration on php, I want the user to complete registration on payment. At the moment they have to pay on paypal and register separately – this is not what I want.

If php cant do this what software would you recommend, I need the forum facility of php but also a payment method all in one - or two applications that are easily combined.

Have a look in here: http://www.vbulletin.com/
At the features site, you will find this:

"Paid Subscriptions (PayPal, WorldPay, NOCHEX and Authorize.net)"

I think that is what you are looking for. I'm subscribed to some forums using this system, and is the best one I've ever tryied.

Good Luck!

The problem with VBulletin is that you have to register with the forum first, then you can subsrcibe, i want the user to have to subscribe when registering witht he forum.

Do you mean as in the link I gave you?
This is the best money I have ever spent. I cannot not tell you how many times these folks have saved my bacon. I learn so much from the contributors.

Had already applied that mod - it didnt work, i think its to old or maybe i messed up, pity you cant download the mod already in php.
