Frontpage server extensions problem

I am developing an Intranet using frontpage 2003, publishing to a Windows 2003 server running IIS. I have enabled frontpage extensions 2002. I have been trying to put a search page and bulletin board on the site using frontpag'e wizards but neither work, returning the following message:

FrontPage Run-Time Component Page
You have submitted a form or followed a link to a page that requires a web server and the FrontPage Server Extensions to function properly.

This form or other FrontPage component will work correctly if you publish this web to a web server that has the FrontPage Server Extensions installed.

Click the <Back> arrow to return to the previous page.

I have follwed other posts on these pages and re-installed the extensions, republished the site using frontpage but to no avail. Any ideas?

Do you have the index server enabled?

Hi Corey, if you mean the indexing service, then yes its started
Hi, Does anyone have any further ideas here?
Tyr this - go to the Frontpage Server extensions Admin Control panel so you can Recalculate the web.

Go back to your Frontpage progam and go to tools - recalculate hyperlinks.  Now publish to the website

-Corey
I did this and when I came to re-publish, there was a problem with one of the folders, I re-created the folder, it allowed me to publish and the symptoms changed, I could get into the message board but it would not create new entries, they seemed to post but when I tried to search for them,it embedded the same error message on a page it had created. I believe this is a wider server extensions problem as I tried a hit counter on a page and that didn't work either. Do you have any further ideas or know of a good frontpage server extensions troubleshooting page?

Paul
It sounds like a Frontpage Server Extensions error again.  Can you Recalculate the web again?

Is this the only web on this server?  Where did you get the FPSE 2002?

-Corey
Recalculating and re-publishing didn't work. The server had FPSE 2002 before I arrived here, it also runs Windows Update Server (WSUS)

Paul
You might see if you can download the FPSE from the Windows site. If it was installed via the Windows CD, there are some problems with that.  I have a copy if Windows no longer has them on their site.

And then run thru the Control Panel - drill down into the IIS and uninstall the FPSE and then run the FPSE install program

Hi Corey,

This seemed to have no effect, does having Microsoft Sharepoint Administration installed have any bearing?
