Cannot connet to Home Wireless Network

I have a Rock Extreme Ti that has just returned from having the processor and motherboard replaced, and it is working without problem.

I also have a Panrix Magnum Desktop connected through a Netgear DG834G to Tiscali Broadband, which I am currently using now to access the internet.

I cannot get my Wireless Networking on my Rock to work. I have made sure it is activated usiong [Fn] = [F12] and the network is showing up on Wireless Network Connections. It previously worked, and my friends lap top also works on the network.

Both comouters use XP Pro. The Network is unsecured

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

It sounds like a driver issue to me. Try updating the driver automatically in device manager. Let it use the Microsoft driver if one is available. If not, then download the latest for your wireless NIC and reboot.

What do you mean wireless NIC - is that the Wireless Hub?

Remove the wireless network card (NIC) drivers from your Rock and tell it to reinstall them from the drivers CD

Have not been home since last post but am using the laptop on a friends network and it is working - with same wireless router as my network at home

Any suggestions?

Does your laptop get an IP from your router at home? If not you may have it "mac locked" in your router settings. Or if you have WEP enabled as well then you need to double check your preshared key, etc. You can always, as a last resort, reset your Netgear router to defaults and clear any configuration that is blocking your access.

Check your router for Setup Access List and ensure your MAC address is in the allowed list.

Here is the full documentation for your router:
